Our friends over at Vice made a movie.Five years ago, after hearing about this metal band in Iraq, they started following their progress through the craziness that was the American invasion.
Despite chaos and bombs and death around them, the band – Acrassicauda – struggled to stay together and stay alive, always refusing to let their heavy metal dreams die. Their story echoes the hopes of an entire generation of displaced young Iraqis. It’s a must-see movie. Even the New York Times got on the bandwagon, saying Vice are reinventing how documentaries are being made and how stories are being told.
