HULL-MONGERING

When I first met Gordon Hull (artist, burger expert), it was at an NYC restaurant.

I was with our mutual friend Suroosh and they were meeting to talk biz. I didn’t have anything to do that day except shadow Suroosh, and I wasn’t hungry, and since they were technically having a business dinner, I didn’t want to include myself in the conversation. Anyway, from what I managed to eavesdrop, I ended up thinking that Gordon was both a strange (in a good way) and interesting guy. I’ve hung out with him a bunch of times since and having conversations mostly involving animal sounds seems to be the norm (also in a good way).

Gordon’s the co-founder of the design company Surface to Air and he’s just made a mighty excellent book called “Experiments in Rumors”. Tim Barber of online gallery/cool-thing portal Tiny Vices is putting it out on his imprint called TV Books.

Go to the site to check it out, to watch the clever quicktime flipbook of the book, and to buy some limited-edition prints from that book and others.

Oh, and if you’re curious about what Gordon thinks of burgers in New York. Lookey-
here.
