Crystal Castles
Nope, we’re not talking about those Crystal Castles. This right here is a REAL crystal castle: The Cave of Crystals (aka Cueva de los Cristales) located in the Naica Mine, in the Mexican state of Chihuahua.
Found in a limestone rock chamber approximately 1,000 feet (300 m) down, the horseshoe shaped cavity holds some of the largest natural crystals ever found, reaching heights of over 30 feet and weighing more than 50 tons. Counter to appearances, the cave has crazy high temperatures (reaching upwards of 136 degrees) and an inappropriately attired person would only last around 10 minutes inside. Like Mr. Invincible there in the picture.
